{"id":7942,"date":"2022-08-27T11:09:14","date_gmt":"2022-08-27T11:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/behzistdanesh.com\/?p=7942"},"modified":"2022-08-28T04:02:14","modified_gmt":"2022-08-28T04:02:14","slug":"new-bioplastics-research-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/behzistdanesh.com\/en\/new-bioplastics-research-center\/","title":{"rendered":"New Australian Bioplastics Research Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">News- A new University of Queensland-led training centre is set to become a hub for world-leading research in <strong>\u2018green\u2019 plastic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre is based at UQ\u2019s School of Chemical Engineering, aims to make large-scale plastic pollution<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Centre director, Steven Pratt said scientists will work toward developing <strong>bio-derived<\/strong> and<strong> bio-degradable plastics<\/strong> that have a minimal <strong>environmental<\/strong> impact<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cEvery year it\u2019s estimated more than 10 million tonnes of plastic leaks into oceans as part of the almost 400 million tonnes of plastic that\u2019s destined for landfill\u201d, said Pratt. \u201cUrgent change is needed, and biodegradable bioplastics along with their<strong> natural fibre composites<\/strong>, will be pivotal. It\u2019s an exciting prospect to work toward manufacturing a commercially-available bioplastic with exceptional properties but without the legacy of accumulation in the environment\u201d<\/p>\n<p
