Woodly Packaging for Herbs under the Vihreäkeiju Brand

News- Finland-based Kyröntarhat Oy, which produce salads and herbs under the Vihreäkeiju brand, are the first food producers to sell coriander, packaged in carbon-neutral wood-based plastic and make it available to consumers. The herbs will be available in selected K-Market stores in Turku region. Consumers will recognize the new packaging from the Woodly logo

Woodly is a new material with properties similar to conventional fossil plastics. Woodly is also carbon neutral and recyclable. In addition to packaging, it can be used to make products for various uses. The main raw material for Woodly material comes from certified coniferous forests, which are managed in accordance with international ecological and ethical standards

It is great to be able to work with Vihreäkeiju to make Woodly packaging available to consumers, said Jaakko Kaminen, CEO of Woodly. Replacing fossil plastics with bio-based plastics is a long-term project and needs to be done on a company-by-company basis. Leaders like Vihreäkeiju play a big role in this work
